Instructions for Setting Up the App on a Smartphone

  1. ⚠️Make sure the watch has been activated as described on page 1 before proceeding!
  2. 📲 Download the Wonlex app from Google Play / iOS App Store and install it on the parent's phone.
  3. 🔓 Open the app and select Register to create a new account.
    1. 🆔 Watch ID/License: Scan the QR code found on the watch packaging.
                          
    2. 📧 Account: Your email address.
    3. 🧸 Nickname: Nickname for the watch user (e.g., Nonni).
    4. 🔑 Password: 6–12 character password for the Wonlex account.
    5. 🔁 R_Password: Confirm (repeat) the password.
    6. 🌍 Make sure the Region is set to “Europe and Africa”.
  4. ➕ To add another watch, go to 👤 “Me” (Avatar in the top left), then 📃 “Device List” and ➕ “Add device”.
  5. 📱 To add another phone, install the app on that phone and log in with the same username and password.
  6. ☎️ In the settings, go to the phone book and add contacts the child can call. You can add up to 15 contacts. If a call is made to the watch from a number not in the phone book, the watch will automatically reject the call.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                

❓ Q&A – Frequently Asked Questions

📍 The app shows an inaccurate location:

❗Note: The watch must be outdoors and have a clear view of satellites to provide the most accurate GPS location. If the watch sees no or few satellites (e.g., it's inside a building), the location may be incorrect.

🔌 The app says “Device offline” or still shows the wrong location:

Send this SMS code to the watch: pw,PASSWORD,ip,52.28.132.157,8001#. This requests an update of the location data.

🆔 I lost the ID number (QR code):
You can find a copy of it in the “App” tab on the watch itself or by sending this SMS: pw,PASSWORD,ts#

🚫 I don’t want the watch to connect with other kids’ smartwatches (Friend feature):

To disable:  pw,PASSWORD,makefriend,0#  
To enable: pw,PASSWORD,makefriend,1# 

🕰️ I don’t want the watch to disturb during school hours:
You can set the watch to “Do Not Disturb” mode using the app. This disables all functions except showing the time.
You must set the time range for this mode each day (e.g., 00:01–23:59).
To cover 20:00 to 08:00, set two periods:

  • 20:00–23:59
  • 00:01–08:00

📶 What kind of subscription do I need for the watch?


The watch uses a NANO SIM card with a minimum of 1GB data per month for location tracking and general use.
It also needs credit for calls and SMS if your plan charges for those.

1. 📶 SIM Card

🔛 Insert the NANO SIM card into the SIM tray,

then into the slot, and turn on the watch.


💡 Note: The SIM card must have data and credit.

2. 📲 Control Center Setup (Parent/Guardian Phone) – Main Method

➡️ Set the control center to the parent’s phone, which will be the main contact for the watch. ❗Note: Make sure 🌐DATA ROAMING is enabled on the phone.

✉️ Send an SMS from the parent’s phone to the watch’s phone number with the following         text:

pw,123456,center,PARENT_PHONE_NUMBER#
Note: Use lowercase letters, commas, and don’t forget the # at the end.

📌 Example: pw,123456,center,8559999#

(This SMS tells the watch that the number 8559999 is the main control center – the parent’s phone. The number 123456 is the default password, which the parent should change later in the setup process.)

3. 🛜 Mobile Carrier Settings

Send an SMS from your mobile phone to the watch’s phone number using the correct settings for your mobile carrier.

⚠️ Note: Make sure to select the correct mobile carrier.

⚠️ Important: Use lowercase letters, commas, and don’t forget the # at the end of the            SMS.

✅ The watch replies that the APN has been activated within 1 minute.

🛠️ If the watch does not respond within a few minutes, try the following common solutions:

⚠️ Make sure DATA ROAMING is enabled on the phone.
⚠️ Check that the watch is turned on.
⚠️ Ensure that a valid SIM card is inserted in the watch – try calling the watch.
❗Note: The SIM card must have data and credit.

🔑 Try using the password 523681 instead of 123456.

📌 Example: pw,523681,center,8559999#

⚠️ Make sure you are using the correct password. If the password has been changed, use the new personal password instead of 123456.

✍️ Double-check the number of commas, periods, and spaces in the settings.
Smartphone keyboards often autocorrect text and may insert unwanted spaces after punctuation.

⚠️ Confirm that your mobile carrier has the correct APN settings.

 

4. 🔐 Change the Password ("pw")

⚠️ It is necessary to change the default password to a personal one.

➡️ The password (pw) can contain up to 5 lowercase letters and must be no longer than 9 characters.

✉️ Send an SMS to the watch’s phone number with the following format:
pw,OLD_PASSWORD,pw,NEW_PASSWORD#

📌 Example: pw,123456,pw,888999#
– This changes the password on the watch from 123456 to 888999.

5. 🔁 Restart

🔛 To restart the watch, press and hold the Power/SOS button for approximately                  15–60 seconds.

➡️ Then turn it back on using the same button.

6. 📱 The App on the Parent's Phone

The next step is to install the Wonlex app on the guardian's phone.
