Ninja CREAMi instructions
Correct use of the Ninja Creami and common mistakes to avoid
🧊 Freeze the Ice Cream Box Upright on a Flat Surface
Make sure the surface of the ice cream mixture is level before placing the box in the freezer.
- When placing the ice cream boxes in the freezer, they must stand on a flat surface so the top remains even.
- If the mixture freezes at an angle, it can damage the machine.
❄️ Let the Ice Cream Box Thaw Before Placing It in the Machine
Let the ice cream box sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes before inserting it into the machine.
The thawing time depends on how frozen the box is and how full it is.
If the box is placed directly into the machine without thawing:
❌ The blades may get stuck in the ice or bend inward
❌ It may scratch the sides or damage the coating of the box
🥄 Smooth the Surface Before Freezing or Reprocessing
As the liquid freezes, its volume increases, which can cause small bumps on the surface.
✔️ It’s best to scrape off the bumps so the surface is smooth again
✔️ Then it’s safe to place the box in the machine
🧀 If Thick Ingredients Aren’t Well Mixed, the Ice Cream Will Be Lumpy
If the ice cream appears chunky or unfinished, it needs to be mixed better-whisked or blended-before freezing.
For example, if you use cream cheese:
- Heat the cream cheese for 30 seconds before mixing
- Mix it first with sugar, then add other liquids
- Whip the mixture well before freezing

🔁 If the Ice Cream Becomes Dry or Crumbly
- ✔️ Smooth the surface again, place the box back in the machine, and press the Respin button
- ✔️ Sometimes you may need to press Respin more than once
- If that doesn’t work, add a little more liquid to the box and press Respin again
🌡️ The ice cream might also be too cold let it thaw a bit longer
🚫 Do NOT:
- ❌ Put frozen berries or ice cubes directly into the machine
- ❌ Overfill the ice cream containers beyond THE MAX fill line
