 Setting Up a Xiaomi Smart Device

1.🔌Preparation:
  • Make sure the device is plugged into power.
  • Download the “Mi Home” app:
    📱 Available on both Google Play Store and App Store.
2.🔐Sign in or create a Mi account:
  • Open the “Mi Home” app and sign in with your existing Mi account.
  • 🆕 If you don’t have one, create a new account.
3.➕Add the device:
  • Tap the “+” icon in the top right corner.
  • Choose the category your device belongs to (e.g. 📷 “Cameras”, 💡 “Lights”, 🔌 “Power”).
  • Select the exact device you are setting up.
4. 📶Connect to Wi-Fi:
  • Make sure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network
    (some Xiaomi devices do not support 5GHz).
  • Enter your Wi-Fi password in the app when prompted.
5.⚙️Put the device in setup mode:
  • Follow the on-screen instructions – usually, you need to hold a button on the device for a few seconds.
6.🔍Search for the device:
  • The app should automatically detect the device when it’s in setup mode.
  • Select the device and follow the instructions to complete the connection.
7. ✅Confirm setup:
  • Give the device a name and assign it to a room.
  • Test different settings in the app to ensure everything works correctly.
8. 🎛️Customize settings:
  • Adjust the device to your preferences:
    • ⏰ Schedules
    • 🔔 Notifications
    • 🔗 Connections with other smart devices

❗ If setup fails, try the following:

  • 📡 Make sure the device is close to the router
  • 🔁 Restart the device and put it back into setup mode
  • 🔄 Restart your router
  • 🔑 Make sure the Wi-Fi password is correct and you're connected to a 2.4GHz network
