Finding Your Wi-Fi Password in Windows
If you've forgotten your Wi-Fi password or want to share it with others, you can find it on a Windows computer that has previously connected to the network.
To find the password (for the currently connected network):
- Open Settings on your Windows computer.
- Go to Network & internet. On the Status page, find your Wi-Fi connection and click Properties. (Alternatively, you might navigate via Network & internet > Wi-Fi > click on your connected network's name or its Properties link).
- Scroll down until you see "Wi-Fi password" or, more commonly, "Network security key". Click Show (or check the "Show characters" box) next to it.
Note:
You can also view passwords for other previously saved networks. To do this, go to Settings > Network & internet > Wi-Fi > Manage known networks. Select the network you want from the list, click on it (or its Properties), and then you should find an option to Show the "Network security key" or "Wi-Fi password".
If you haven't changed the default password for your home network, it should be printed on a sticker on your router (often on the bottom or back of the device).
